For Restaurant East, we are looking for a restaurant shiftleader! East is an all-day concept, open 7 days a week, and a true living room of Amsterdam. If you have the skills and enthusiasm to lead the service team in this vibrant setting, we would love to hear from you!

A day as...

As you arrive at 7:45, you greet your colleagues and check the reservation system. You prepare everything, freshly squeeze orange juice, and ensure the restaurant is perfectly set before the guests arrive. Afterward, you place an order with the wholesaler and quickly check the schedule for the rest of the week.

After the setup, you check in with Janine Jetten, our Head Barista. Over a cup of coffee, you discuss the day's plan and any potential challenges. A relaxed start to begin your day with positive energy!

Soon, the first guests arrive, and you go above and beyond to pamper them. No question or request is too much for you! You enjoy talking about the chef's specialties, taking orders, and recommending a delicious accompanying drink. You have a genuine passion for food and drinks and love conveying this to our guests, as well as guiding and providing tips to your team.

With great food and drinks, your smile and enthusiasm, the guests have had another fantastic day at East! At the end of your shift, you straighten everything up before the evening shift arrives. You provide them with a handover and go through the evening plan with them. Then it's time to clock out and enjoy a well-deserved closing drink with your colleagues!

Your responsibilities...

• You ensure that all guests have an amazing afternoon or evening, ensuring they come back for more;
• You provide advice to guests on delicious coffees, beverages, and the menu;
• You take orders, serve drinks, and dishes;
• You ensure that the outlets are in excellent condition, so our guests feel completely welcome!
• You work alongside our supervisors, supporting them in managing and coaching the team.

You...

• Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership role in the hospitality industry;
• Are extremely guest-oriented;
• Have a flexible mindset and are versatile;
• Are a motivator: even on super busy days, you know how to inspire the team!
• Are a team player who enjoys collaborating with young and enthusiastic colleagues;
• Are passionate about everything related to delicious food and drinks!

Your team...

As a Shiftleader East, you become part of our Food & Beverage team, which includes our kitchen brigade, the Meeting, Events & Operations Team, EAST (our restaurant), and GAPP (our rooftop terrace).

As a Shiftleader in Service, you work closely with Supervisor Britt and Head Barista Janine Jetten, under the leadership of Restaurant Manager Janine Odink. The rest of the team consists of various full-time and part-time colleagues.
