From the initial enquiry, the Banquet Sales Coordinator discusses the requirements of the guest or event organiser. How many guests are expected? Which venue or meeting room is most suitable? The Banquet Sales Coordinator then ensures that the relevant hotel departments understand what needs to be arranged. This involves working closely with the Banquet Sales Employee, Banquet Sales Manager, Front Office and Banquet Sales Supervisor. Depending on the hotel's organisational structure, Banquet Sales may also be part of the Food & Beverage department.

Typical responsibilities of a Banquet Sales Coordinator include responding to enquiries, preparing quotations, booking meeting rooms and event spaces, coordinating catering and facilities, and ensuring that all arrangements are properly documented. You also maintain contact with clients and ensure a smooth handover to the operational teams.
