Job Scope

Cycas Hospitality is looking for an onsite assistant financial controller to oversee the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring compliance to financial procedures and profitability.

The Assistant Financial Controller will work in close contact with the management in the hotel and coordinate the communication with external parties ( suppliers, customers, owners, off property team).

Key Job Responsibilities

Compliance & controls:

• Guarantee the accuracy and the completeness of the invoices sent to customers, ensuring that the related departments issue them in a timely matter and in line with contract
• Ensure that all the cashier, night audit and income audit procedures are performed daily by the relevant departments in accordance with the internal procedures and brand requirements.
• Hold credit meetings with the relevant departments and oversight the credit collection process
• Support HODs in the tender process for the appointment of key suppliers
• Support the GM/HODs with the weekly FTE planning, providing ad hoc reports and analysis
• Monitor the weekly cash planning
• Coordinate the month end closing, by ensuring a smooth collaboration between HODs and off site functions
• Maintain the different platforms used by the hotels for operational purposes ( procurement, time attendance, PMS system, etc.. )
• Liaises with external stock takers and auditors as required
• Initiate desktop audits around the hotel procedures
• Promote the awareness in the hotels around financial procedures, correct data retention and storage

Forecasting and profitability:

• Support the General manager in the preparation of yearly budget and monthly forecast, coordinating the process with the different HoDs and off property business controller.
• Support the GM in interpreting financial results and understand/ mitigate variances from budget
• Support the GM in preparing weekly forecasts and collect datas to run case scenarios, when requested.
• Support the GM in reviewing and optimizing costs, providing datas on procurement, stock, flowthrough of acquired businesses.
• Monitor the budget expenditures of each department
• Conduct ad hoc analysis under request of HODs, GM or off property Business controller.

Skills and performance

Who we are looking for:

• a young professional with 3-5 years of experience in hotel industry and/or hotel financial roles;
• a dynamic person, willing to adapt and adjust to business needs;
• a data oriented person, capable to support business decisions with accurate datas and with critical thinking.
• an effective communicator, to establish and maintain collaborative relationships within the hotel but also with external parties
• fluently speaking in English (Dutch is a plus)
