Learning & development is about creating a culture and environment for individuals to learn and grow. We are looking for a hands-on, operational and experienced Cluster Learning & Development Manager who can identify the current and future training needs in the different departments of our hotels. You are able to create training opportunities that will develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities of our team members and as a result increase both team member satisfaction and business performance.
What will I be doing?
As part of the Human Resources team in the Netherlands and Belgium, you serve as an integral component by supporting learning and development initiatives through Hilton's comprehensive training framework. Your hotels include Hilton Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Double Tree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station, Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, Hilton Rotterdam, Hilton The Hague, Double Tree by Hilton Soestduinen, Hilton Amsterdam (currently closed for renovation) and Hilton Antwerp Old Town.
Specifically, your tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support departments in developing cutting edge functional excellence and in developing leadership capabilities on all levels
Provide key input of Training aspects for all activities and plans of the Hotels
Support/ conduct individual and team development, career development, and training and experience-based learning
Induct, coach, and mentor new Team Members by personally taking on trainings and workshops – either in a classroom setting or one-to-one development conversations with Team Members
Interact with hotel leaders and HR Managers responsible for people development on a regular basis to provide support to operational departments
Partner with departments to deliver training programs and other organizational and leadership development interventions
Evaluate Career Development Plans of each department together with HR Managers to extract learning needs
Prepare annual training plans and training calendars for the hotels based on their needs
Coordinate the presentation of Hilton Worldwide with all relevant (hotel) schools nationally and internationally in order to provide the flow of trainees to the several hotels
Be first point of contact for the (hotel) schools and maintain outstanding relationships by frequently visiting hotel schools and relevant fairs
Support the HR teams in the recruitment of interns
Liaise with fellow L&D Leaders/ Managers within the company on trends, new initiatives and aim to maximize synergy
As a department head, you are also responsible for the administrative tasks related to your department
You will be travelling between the different hotels throughout your working week. You are supported by your L&D team consisting of an Assistant Learning & Development Manager or Coordinator and Learning & Development trainee.

Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations and locations
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work on their own and in teams
Proficiency, at an intermediate level, with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
Excellent command of English and Dutch in both speaking and writing
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Tertiary qualifications, or other collegiate-level degree, in Training or Human Resources
