Front Office Manager – Amstel Hotel

We are now looking for a confident, experienced, and service-driven Front Office Manager to lead this essential department. As a leader in Amsterdam’s most iconic hotel, you will be responsible for ensuring every arrival feels like a homecoming and every guest leaves with unforgettable memories while leading a team of passionate individuals.

Your main responsibilities:

Lead with Purpose:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Front Office team to ensure seamless, five-star service at all times. Sets a positive example for guest relations.

Deliver Guest Excellence:

  • Uphold the highest standards of hospitality, giving VIPs, IHG One Rewards members, and repeat guests the special attention they deserve in line with LQA and brand expectations.

  • Handles complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

  • Performs all duties at the Front Desk and runs shifts if necessary.

Drive Results:

  • Monitor occupancy, room rates, and revenue performance, taking action to optimize results while ensuring compliance with credit policies and accurate reporting.

  • Develops new revenue and guests’ satisfaction ideas, considering the basis of permanent improvement.

Collaborate Across Departments:

  • Maintain clear communication with Housekeeping, Reservations, Sales, and other teams to ensure guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Empower and Develop Your Team:

  • Recruit, coach, and inspire the Front Office team, implementing training plans and conducting regular meetings to maintain excellence in service and team culture.

Support Strategy and Reporting:

  • Contribute to the hotel’s strategic and marketing plans, prepare the departmental budget together with the Director of Rooms and provide leadership with key performance insights.

Champion Safety and Standards:

  • Ensure Front Office operations meet the highest standards in safety, grooming, hygiene, and service consistency.

Who You Are

  • A confident and inspiring leader with a heart for hospitality and people.

  • A natural communicator with a positive, proactive attitude.

  • Detail-oriented and driven to exceed guest expectations.

  • Fluent in English (Dutch or additional languages are a plus).

  • Skilled in Opera PMS, Microsoft Office, and daily hotel operations.

  • Experience in a (4/5-star) hotel setting.
