Head of Purchasing - Amsterdam

The Role

As the Head of Purchasing, you are responsible for the entire procurement and receiving process at Pulitzer Amsterdam. From negotiating with suppliers to leading your team on the warehouse floor - you ensure that all goods flow smoothly through the building, supporting every department to perform at its best.

You oversee purchasing systems, supplier contracts, and stock levels, and ensure compliance with HACCP and safety standards. Whether it's overseeing deliveries, solving logistical challenges, or stepping in to support operations during busy periods - you are hands-on, reliable, and always one step ahead.

Your Key Responsibilities

· Lead, organize, and support daily purchasing and receiving operations.

· Negotiate with suppliers and manage purchasing agreements.

· Monitor and process all incoming goods, ensuring proper documentation and system entry.

· Ensure warehouse activities meet HACCP and safety standards.

· Distribute goods efficiently across departments and maintain organized storage.

· Supervise and train the Purchasing & Receiving team with a hands-on approach.

· Support other departments and assist during operational peaks when needed.

Who You Are

· You have at least 2 years of experience in purchasing and supplier management.

· You have 3+ years of experience leading operational teams.

· You are flexible and willing to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.

· You are physically fit and capable of working full shifts in a warehouse environment.

· You are fluent in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

· You are confident using systems like Birchstreet, Microsoft, Dyflexis, and Afas.
