We are looking for a new Operations Trainee to join our team, as of June 2024!

This internship is only available to students who need to complete an internship as part of their studies.

What to expect?

Have you ever thought about becoming an Operations Manager of a hotel? Or about managing an outlet or multiple departments in the future? This is your chance to get a clear insight in what managing various operational departments are all about! In this position, you support the Operations Manager from Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with running the daily operations and work on different projects. You must be creative in coming up with several ways to handle challenges, impress our guests, and balance spending your time in supporting Front of House, Food & Beverage and Housekeeping in both front- and back of the house. You will report to the Operations Manager directly.

What else will you be doing?

We hope you are open-minded to change. Not one day is the same when working with us. Your tasks and responsibilities vary from daily/weekly tasks to one off events and projects. The day starts with a hotel round and offering assistance in the operations when needed. Usually followed by preparing the handover to your colleagues about what is happening in the hotel and answering comments our guests left behind on our satisfaction questionnaires, which you will discuss during the daily morning meeting. Each week you will join the meeting where all activities for next week are discussed. Besides assisting in events, you will also assist in promotions, product offerings and working on several new business ideas from the start to the full implementation and execution. Whilst supporting with hotel events, your responsibilities may vary from processing the reservations, payments, and other administrative jobs whilst on the event itself you have the chance to shine with your colleagues during the operations. This position is full of responsibilities that you will discover during your time with us.

Who are you?

First of all, a student that needs to do this internship as part of your education but most of all, a people’s person, that’s who you are. You enjoy working with a great variety of people in a team as well as independently. You understand the importance of communication and you have excellent English business language skills. Being pro-active and independent is what you are well known for. You love a hectic work environment and can easily adapt to any situation.
