The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is searching for its next Pastry Chef! 

What are my responsibilities?

The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality pastries, desserts and baked goods that delight our guests and reflect the hotel’s signature style. You combine creativity with precision, ensuring consistency in taste, texture and presentation. Working closely with the kitchen team, you support the daily pastry operations, from mise en place to plating, while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, organization and food safety. 

• Prepare, bake and finish a variety of pastries, breads, desserts, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards. 

• Ensure consistency in taste, portioning and presentation across all pastry items. 

• Support the development of new menu items and seasonal creations with fresh ideas and attention to detail. 

• Organize and maintain the pastry section during preparation and service times. 

• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures in accordance with HACCP and company standards. 

• Assist with daily stock checks, rotation and storage to ensure freshness and minimize waste. 

• Collaborate with colleagues in the kitchen and front of house to ensure smooth communication and timely service. 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry equipment and workspace at all times. 

• Fulfil other reasonable job duties as instructed by the manager.

What are we looking for?

·    Have proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hotel. 

• A team player who can contribute to a positive and professional kitchen culture

• Are eager to learn and develop your craft through training and feedback. 

• Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.

• Can communicate fluently in English

• Are available to work different shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays

• Eligible to work in the Netherlands

A major investment has been made in the hotel which will result in completely renovated guest rooms and public areas, including a brand-new bar, restaurant and rooftop bar & terrace. The hotel will expand from 402 to 500 rooms and an additional conference center will be constructed.
