Let me introduce myself: my name is Nádia and I work as HR Business Partner at Pestana Amsterdam Riverside, a beautiful monumental hotel located alongside the Amstel River, and I am looking for passionate colleagues to join our team.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a results-oriented Rooms Division Manager to join our team in Amsterdam. Reporting to our General Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance department through 3 direct reports / head of departments, making sure we deliver “Memorable Moments” to all our guests and staff, providing them with “the time of their lives”.

What do we expect from you?

• Manage, coach, counsel, and train the team in accordance with the hotel service standards and procedures
• Coordinate the activities of Front office, Housekeeping and Maintenance
• Actively participate in the hiring process
• Check the schedules keeping in mind occupancy levels of the hotel and operational needs
• Make sure quality controls are done for Housekeeping and act on it.
• Prepare and be responsible for the departmental budget, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, that productivity and performance levels are attained
• Be an ambassador for our brand's loyalty program
• Maintain a sustainable relationship with other departments
• Replace the General Manager in his absence
• Champion for managing our guests satisfaction and manage our reputation system (GSS & GRI), analyze and reacting on online reviews and surveys, and working towards improvement of hotel results
• Prepare and participate in departmental meetings

Who are you?

• You have a ‘’can do’’ mentality and you understand that working in hospitality is not a static job and that you might be required to perform tasks outside your scope of work
• You are a problem-solver who likes to take on challenges
• You have relevant experience in Front office and in Housekeeping, preferably a minimum of 3 years of experience in high service environment as department head
• You have experience working in international companies
• You are a strong communicator, and you know how to adjust your speech to better serve our guests, staff/team and their personalities
• You are an emphatic team leader
• You are goal oriented and committed to always delivering a high level of service
• You are fluent in English, and maybe you speak one additional language?
• You are a natural organizer and with an eye for detail
• You thrive in energetic environments and cannot wait to share your positive energy
• Knowledge of the Opera system is an advantage
