Selva - “Another name for the Amazon, the lungs of the earth”

Are you a committed kitchen steward looking for a new job opportunity? As a Kitchen Steward, your responsibility is to maintain the kitchen and the dishwashing area in accordance with the local authority and hotel guidelines.

Inspired by tropical and Latin American cuisine and co-created by nhow Amsterdam, Selva is a new restarant, being built on the 24th floor of nhow Amsterdam. It is a rooftop restaurant with 150 seats overlooking the city of Amsterdam. Together with the kitchen team, and the culinary creations, complemented by the amazing views, you will create the nhow experiences our guests hope for.

What are you going to do? 

As Selva is inspired by tropical and Latin American cuisine, it is important that our culinary brigade uses traditional and cutting-edge techniques along with seasonal and honest ingredients. At Selva, we will be using a charcoal grill to offer different taste profiles on our menu.

As a successful Kitchen Steward, you will make sure that the kitchen is clean, well maintained, and always organized. You will also assist the culinary or waiting brigade if need be.

You will also be responsible for:

• Ensuring that floors are always dry and clean.
• Operating pot-washing machinery and maintaining a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
• Adhering to all sanitation guidelines.
• Collecting and removing trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.
