Suus Plesman, wife of KLM founder Albert Plesman, quietly shaped history through hospitality. In the 1930s, as tensions rose between Albert and his pilots, Suus had a simple idea: invite everyone to the table for a home-cooked meal and a glass of wine, with one rule: no one leaves until peace is made. That dinner led to a historic agreement that helped define KLM’s future, thanks to Suus’ warmth and belief in the power of food to unite.  

Today, Restaurant Suus carries on her legacy, bringing people together through shared stories and exceptional meals. 

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef de Cuisine to join our team and take ownership of our brand-new kitchen. Working closely under our Executive Chef, Kyan van Bommel, you’ll lead the daily operations of Suus with heart, skill, and creativity. Together, we aim to bring the culinary standard of Suus to the highest level and crafting a dining experience that is both refined and deeply memorable. 

What you’ll be doing 

• Lead the daily kitchen service and ensure smooth operations. 

• Manage the brigade de cuisine and uphold high standards in food quality and consistency. 

• Ensure strict compliance with HACCP standards and all food safety protocols. 

• Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and front-of-house team to deliver a seamless guest experience. 

• Play a key role in elevating our kitchen’s craft and attention to detail in every plate.
