THE POSITION

The Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring efficient management of hotel finances. This position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, proficient in accounting principles, passionate, eager to advance their career in the hospitality industry and potentially taking the the next step as Assistance Finance Controller.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, ensuring they are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Support budget preparation and financial forecasting activities.
• Participate in the preparation for annual audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Monitor and report on discrepancies and irregularities observed in financial documents and transactions.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate financial records and reporting.
• Provide financial analysis and data-driven insights to help guide business decisions and optimize profitability.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline finance operations and improve financial processes.
• Cashflow management.

HOW YOU'LL DO IT

• Excellent communication skills.
• Collaborative approach, but also able to work independently.
• Ability to understand, prioritise and then route issues to the appropriate support provider accordingly.
• Happy to work routine-based as well as project-based.
• Analytical, practical and accurate.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Hospitality or related field.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a finance role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient in financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
