JOB DESCRIPTION – STOREKEEPER

JAZ IN THE CITY

GENERAL

As a storekeeper a.k.a. The Roadie you are the right hand of the operational departments and financial administrator. You make sure they have everything they need to keep the operation running.

The storekeeper will be managed by, and have final reporting to, the financial administrator a.k.a. The Box Office Bean Counter.

JOB DUTIES

• Taking care of internal order lists, requests by email and telephone, and then translating them into orders from preferred hotel suppliers.
• Keep inventory of current stock.
• Ensuring availability and timely delivery of fresh produce.
• Receiving and storing of products in their designated storage rooms.
• Ensuring that delivered goods are meeting quality expectations, and contacting the supplier when this is not the case.
• Identifying impending exceedances of shelf-life dates, acting where necessary.
• Ensuring availability of (work)tools and/or office supplies.
• Negotiate delivery and/or pricing terms & conditions with new and/or current suppliers.
• Organize and clean storage rooms according to hygiene and safety procedures.
• Refilling and organizing of goods into storage rooms or working areas.
• Handing over of crucial information to colleagues and ensuring that checklists are completed.
• Count stock on a monthly base in the different outlets.
• Keeping an eye on new trends and developments and pursuing them.
• Performing spot checks on the inventory and acting where necessary.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report efficiently and effectively to department heads about the status of deliveries.
• Maintain secure, clean, organized, and prepared Kitchens and Storage Rooms in line with HACCP standards.
• Report and follow-up maintenance issues to and with the hotel engineers.
• Ensure safety of colleagues and guests by following safety and security procedures, reporting suspicious activity to security, manager on duty, supervisor, and/or management team.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
• Counting stock and make sure the cost of sales in order.
• Watch trends about sustainability and act on them.
• Work with our in-house order system.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• You have a positive attitude and are always looking to provide your colleagues with the tools and resources they are looking for. You do not mind occasionally lifting heavy things.
• The Roadie is an ambassador of Jaz in the City, is familiar with the concept and communication style, and acts accordingly.
• You are flexible and can switch quickly between different tasks. The Roadie does not focus on problems, but solutions, and is able to remain calm whilst under pressure.
• The Roadie possesses good communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Dutch. You can listen to what someone has to say and asks questions when deemed necessary.
• The Roadie is organized and is well known with keeping up the administration.
• Has experience with Microsoft Office.
• Has interests in the Hotel and/or food and beverage industry.
• Currently living in the Netherlands.
