Supernova Hotel is seeking a Front Office Manager who will represent the face of our 4-star boutique hotel in Rotterdam West starting in January. Supernova Hotel maintains a strong focus on quality and delivering an unforgettable experience guest experience. As the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our front office. You will manage your tasks over a weekly schedule of 1 day in the office and 4 days working hands-on with the team on the floor doing daily tasks at the front office, bar and kitchen. You’ll be the wizard behind the scenes, making sure everything runs like a dream for our guests


Roles and responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the front office, taking complete responsibility for its smooth operation;
  • Responsible for hiring and onboarding of new staff members;
  • Handling financial tasks like invoicing;
  • Ensuring and maintaining the quality of our front desk and overnight reception. You will provide training to all front desk staff frequently;
  • Responsible for group reservations and handling requests on a daily basis. All involved departments and colleagues are informed and instructed for a smooth operation.
  • Monthly scheduling for the front office and the night reception;
  • HRM duties, including holiday requests, approving working hours, and keep an eye on over hours. You are the first point of contact in case someone calls in sick and make sure to solve the situation on the spot. You will maintain accurate records of working hours and report them to the general manager.

Requirements

  • Available for 32 or 40 hours per week;
  • MBO4/HBO level of education and thinking;
  • You have 2-3 years of hospitality experience, including 1-3 years specifically as a front office agent;
  • Minimum of 1 year in a leadership position;
  • You have worked with our reservation system Mews before;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Warm, welcoming, and hospitable attitude towards guests and team members;
  • Flexibility in working hours. You will work morning, evening and weekend shifts;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in high-pressure situations;
  • You hold a social hygiene certificate;
