We are a hybrid home-hotel, offering a flexible landing ground for international young talent coming to Amsterdam to work or study. With 166 hotel rooms at Hotel Jansen Schinkel and 200 recently opened hotel rooms at Hotel Jansen Bajeskwartier, we provide affordable accommodation for stays ranging from 1 day to 6 months.

Now, here's the deal: we are seeking someone special to join our team as an operational manager. In this role, you will oversee daily operations alongside two other operational managers, ensuring high service standards and contributing to the overall success of our hotel and café.

 

Here is what you will be responsible for:

-             Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of both the café and hotel departments. We are looking for someone who can actively work alongside the team, rather than simply supervising.

-             Leading the Front of House team by providing guidance, support, and training to ensure customer service and satisfaction.

-             Monitoring inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and supply orders to prevent shortages and minimize waste.

-             Collaborating closely with other operational managers to streamline processes, address challenges, and continuously improve our operations.

-             Assisting in planning and executing community and external events hosted in our café.

-             Daily reporting to the Hotel Manager.

 

In essence, you will be the linchpin that holds our operations together, ensuring that every guest leaves with a smile, our team is happy and well supported and every aspect of our business runs like a well-oiled machine.

-             Experience in a similar supervisory or operational leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a café/hotel environment.

-             Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train, inspire and motivate a team.

-             Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

-             Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

-             Someone who can create structure and consistently goes above and beyond each day.
