Sous Chef (All-around Operations) - Lijnden

At Park Plaza Amsterdam Airport, our kitchen delivers much more than day‑to‑day dining. From individual guests and crew meals to conferences, banquets, weddings and gala dinners ,no two days are the same.

We're looking for an all‑round, flexible Sous Chef (All-around Operations) who enjoys both small and large‑scale operations, loves teamwork, and feels confident leading during busy services. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who thrives in a dynamic hotel environment and enjoys organized, high‑energy kitchens.

What You'll Be Doing

As Sous Chef, you'll support the Head Chef across the full kitchen operation, with a strong focus on groups, events and banqueting, while remaining hands‑on in all areas of the kitchen.

You will:

• Help lead banquets, buffets, conferences and gala dinners
• Work across all outlets, from individual dining to large‑scale events
• Support menu planning, preparation and smooth service execution
• Ensure quality and consistency whether serving 1 plate or 300
• Coordinate timing with service and event teams
• Maintain high standards in food safety, hygiene, stock control and waste management
• Train, support and motivate the kitchen team during busy periods
• Step in wherever needed . A true all‑round flexibility is key

This Role Is Right for You If You:

• Have experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous (hotel or banqueting experience is a big plus)
• Are flexible, hands‑on and enjoy variety in your workday
• Feel confident moving from à la carte service to large events
• Stay organised and calm when it gets busy
• Take pride in structure, planning and execution
• Lead by example and work well in a diverse team
• Speak English confidently (Dutch is an advantage)
